!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! just overly kind, or is there something I don't know about.
Full disclosure, my father was an engineer for Chevron for many years, and I run their gas almost exclusively but seriously, how is techron additive ANY better than any other detergent?

The nice people from STP made a fortune from people believing in the automotive version of the placebo effect. With this stuff they put it in their tank and nothing bad happens so they believe that it's effective.

I don't think my Sonoma has ever seen any of these, is it worth it?

I believe in detergents, they are effective if used regularly, but concentrates never seemed to make much sense to me. I see detergents like vitamin C; yes it helps your immune system, no not if you take a shitload of it right as you are getting sick.

its my opinion that the best gas you can put in your car is a Tier I fuel (not grocery store/maverick) with a quality detergent exclusively. After that, I'm not sure what you can do that will be helpful.

I'm with you there. If you use a good brand of gas that has detergents in it then concentrates really don't make sense, but people don't always get the fine points of cause and effect.

Here in SoCal I use Chevron gasoline exclusively and have no problems with my car. Chevron Techron is very good, but Redline is just as good or probably a little better than the Chevron product. Both contain Naptha and other agents, Chevron will not say how much Naptha they include due to trade secrets. Redline claims to be more potent and stronger than Chevron. Most people agree Redline is a better product. I also have been using STP Multipurpose Motor Treatment in my fuel tank and also for long term storage fuel stabilization. STP is better than StaBil and Seafoam and less expensive. Also STP stabilizes fuel much better and longer than Stabil and contains no alcohol such as Seafoam does.

Just about all gasoline has detergent in it today. Chevron Techron, STP Multipurpose Motor Treatment and Lucas Fuel system cleaner are all good to add to your tank once in a while, especially if you live in a cold Northern climate.
